Operating to serve the students, teachers & staff of the Texas City Independent School District, the TCISD Communications Office includes one full-time director, one part-time assistant and one printer. The office encompasses public information, publications, print shop, electronic media services and Sting TV. The goal of the communications office is to maintain an ongoing, open and effective communications process which provides an environment of understanding and support for the Texas City schools. The Communications Office is dedicated to being service oriented.

Under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, the Communications Office also plans various special events and recognition celebrations.

Publications
The office produces multiple publications during the course of a school year. These periodic publications include Teletype, the official district newsletter­ is mailed to student households; STINGAREe-News, TCISD’s weekly electronic newsletter and The Board Report, a recap of each month’s regular school board meeting.

In addition, numerous specialty publications are produced during the course of a school year.

Public information plays a vital role in shaping and maintaining a positive image of the district and keeps the public informed of TCISD activities and issues facing the district. Public information deals with news media and provides general information to the public through the release and promotion of newsworthy items.
