Welcome to Blocker Art Department!

Blocker Art Design is a one semester course that introduces the middle school student to the principles and elements of art.  Lessons and hands on projects are completed in line, value, texture, shape, form, space and color.  Different mediums are explored as time and participation allow within the semester.  Artworks will include two-dimensional and three-dimensional works such as drawing, painting and sculpture.

ART CLUB!!
Meetings every Thursday from 3:05 to 4:00pm.  Stop by Ms. Martin's room, #336, to pick up your letter for admission.  Each month a new project is started so please be sure to attend each Thursday until the project is finished.  New members are being accepted.

Art II/Advanced Art

Talented students are gearing up with their artistic abilities to compete in several local and state contests.  These students will be representing our campus in the Wells Fargo Student Visual Art Contest sponsored by the Society for the Performing Arts in Feburary.  In April the students will challenge their problems solving skills by exploring "Chemistry, Our Life, Our Future" in the Dow Chemical Calendar Contest. Again this year, Texas City is hosting a celebration with the Texas City Student Art contest focusing on the history of the community from 1911-2011.  The students may choose to create a piece of work depicting several historical events.
